Studio281 is not just an Art Gallery & Picture Framing business. Owner Leonardo Flavel, has taken this property to dizzying heights with an extremely creative passion.

Studio281 has become known for showcasing artworks by the rising stars of the WA Art scene and hosting vibrant, engaging opening nights. Upon entering the showroom, automatic sensor lights bounce showcase the high gloss white walls which contrasts dramatically against black stained floorboards. A minimalist backdrop for contemporary artworks. Ever changing murals adorn the facade of the Federation Shop front which has created a landmark building well known within the district and beyond. A collective of hair dressers sub-let a portion of the building, and their wash basin water flows into a grey water system which is fed back into their private garden area.

As an owner builder, Leonardo recently constructed a high truss, warehouse style gallery space on the same property and called it The Ferguson Foundry. Inspired by local workers cottage architecture & utilising new & recycled materials, it has a “lived in” feel. As an avid fan of ethical & resourceful design, Leonardo finally had an opportunity to put his interests into practice.

Studio281 will feature live street art mural painting on the facade of Studio281, Amore Mio and Ferguson Foundry.
