The pool has been designed and located with best sight lines considered from the main internal living spaces. Proportion and balance between the built form and soften landscape elements have been well considered for this young family.
The natural topography of the site was used to create a moat wrapping around 2 sides of the pool. This enabled the swimming experience to be better connected with the landscape design and minimise the use of traditional a pool fence.
The existing Mulberry tree
The existing mulberry tree was a real asset in the design and critical that it remained a centre piece. Of course the mess that comes with the fruit required a rustic material be selected for the space, which was a compacted Summerstone fines. The internal surface of the pool was also fully tiled using a glass mosaic for this reason.
